Mobile integrations in prerelease

We have started bringing elmah.io to mobile platforms running on .NET. We currently released support for Xamarin and Uno. Support for MAUI will be included as well when .NET 6 is released.

We are interested in hearing from users who would like to try out the new packages. Don’t hesitate to reach out through support if you have questions and feedback.

Improvement

Changing username/email

By popular demand, your username/email can now be changed directly from your profile (previously only possible when signing up with a social provider). There are a couple of limitations in terms of things that the feature cannot do like switching username to an existing user on elmah.io or switching when two-factor authentication is enabled.

Moving the uptime agent in West US

We are moving the uptime agent in West US to another datacenter (also in West US) on February 10. This won’t affect you unless you have configured the agent’s IP through a firewall or similar. An updated list of IP addresses to allow can be found here: Allowing elmah.io uptime agents.

Improvement

Performance data on heartbeats

The history modal on heartbeats now shows the runtime of the job logging the heartbeat:

Performance data on heartbeats

The new performance metric is already set automatically through the heartbeat integration packages for Hangfire, Azure Functions, and ASP.NET Core. The metric is named Took and can be set manually through the API or from code:

var stopwatch = new Stopwatch();
stopwatch.Start();
// run job
stopwatch.Stop();
heartbeats.Healthy(
    logId,
    heartbeatId,
    took: stopwatch.ElapsedMilliseconds);
